Sabbath Moments

Colleen Spiro invites us to join her each Saturday to share in this meme which calls to mind the wonderful moments throughout our week where we find ourselves resting/rejoicing/enjoying the presence of GOD in our lives! Visit Colleen via my sidebar link. She's a wonderful author and website owner too! Check out her FACEBOOK PAGE for Catholic Prayer Life!

My Sabbath Moments:

1) Took the JMJ Girls Club to Adoration and out for Pizza today. One of our sweet little girls in the Club had an epileptic seizure in the Chapel...Thankfully, because my brother has Epilepsy, I knew what to do...we asked Jesus to help us and we rested with her after the seizure passed. Believe it or not, this was truly a Sabbath Moment...for all the little girls who were with me turned their attention to Our Lord in His Blessed Sacrament and asked Him to help their friend. Holding that child in my arms SO CLOSE to the Savior was so, incredibly comforting.

2) At the pizza shop, another mom and I sat in a booth and caught up on our family lives as we hadn't seen each other for a while. This particular woman had helped me through some grave crises in my own family many years ago...and now, she is facing the challenges, trials, and sufferings of having an older child take a turn down a wrong path. We shared memories...we talked about HOPE and TRUST and FAITH...our eyes met and we understood the sorrow a mother feels when she can't help her child. "It IS going to be alright", I comforted her. We were both trying to contain our tears, when she looked over my shoulder, past our booth into the open kitchen of the pizza shop. Her eyes widened, her smile grew from ear to ear, and she said, in a startled, yet CALM way, "YES. It IS...I am SURE of it now...LOOK, JUDY!" I couldn't imagine what she was talking about but I slowly turned around and saw that on the wall of the kitchen of the pizza shop was a very large picture of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus!!!!!!!! He was TRULY looking at her...His eyes burning into hers...letting her know that ALL WILL BE WELL for those who trust in HIM. Now, some might call this a coincidence...sure...you can stumble into any old pizza shop and find a picture of the Sacred Heart...UM....NO...you can't...that is NOT a common occurrence...and, we do not believe in coincidence...but, as our lovely and wonderful hostess, Colleen says, there ARE "God-incidences" and my friend and I experienced one today:)

3) My last Sabbath Moment also came in the pizza shop. When the guys brought out the huge pans of steamy, cheesy, NY Style pizza to our table of giggly, chatty, beautiful young girls...they all PAUSED with me to pray Grace Before Meals...right there...in public...in the pizza shop...and that's BEFORE we knew we were in a shop that had Our Lord's picture on the wall! I was SO inspired by these young maidens...who are not ashamed of their Faith and who willingly and joyfully thank God for their food...no matter where they are at the time!

My oh my oh my! You had quite a day! So glad you knew what to for that little girl who had a seizure. And the girls publicly sharing their faith had to be beautiful.
And the God-incidence! Wow!
Thanks for joining us in this meme and for sharing these grace-filled sabbath moments!
