A Thankful Woman's Book of Blessings

Sorry I'm a little late today! We had to be at the allergist's office at 7:30 this morning for Gracie's final process of testing to rule out a tomato allergy!

Hence, my list of thanksgiving this week is centered upon these blessings.

Feel free to join in my using Mr. Linky to send us to your "thankful" post. Share 5 things you've been thankful for this week and offer your readers a link back here. Please use the above image in your post, as well!

A thankful heart is a joyful heart!

Today, I GIVE THEE THANKS, OH GOD, for:

1) Gracie's CLEAR on her testing! No tomato allergy! (They have determined that her anaphylactic episode was brought on by a virus or other cause) WE ARE REJOICING IN A MAJOR WAY! Over the past 6 months, when they THOUGHT tomatoes had caused her medical emergency, we learned how difficult it is to cook and eat without use of tomato products...EVERYTHING has tomatoes in it...you'd be amazed...even things like paprika and turmeric (2 VERY common spices) are by-products of tomatoes!

2) Your grace and comfort which gave Grace the courage she needed this morning. She was SOOOO
afraid to eat the tomatoes...even though the doctors were present and were prepared to carefully monitor her in case of a reaction...because her original episode had been SO severe and SO frightening...she was REALLY nervous about eating the tomatoes. (They had done a scratch test and a blood test a couple weeks ago and she'd passed both of those...so the final test was to actually eat the suspected food product). Gracie's daddy suggested that we pray a Hail Mary while we waited for the doctor to enter the room...and we are so thankful for the GRACE and PEACE You sent to our little girl through that prayer! She was so brave!

3) My husband's presence with us. Things are always less frightening when he's with us! We are so thankful that he was able to arrange his work schedule so that he could be with Gracie and me at the doctor's this morning.

4) Medical technology and knowledge...it is amazing when used properly and for Your glory! So many things are able to be determined and cared for now-a-days that were impossible in other centuries. We are grateful for the expertise, care, and kindness of the medical staff who treated Gracie these past few weeks.

5) The pizza we will have tonight for supper! Gracie has REALLY missed her pizza..we won't have meat on it, since today is Ash Wednesday...but we will all enjoy seeing Gracie smile as she sinks her teeth into that cheesy-tomato-y goodness for the first time in almost a year!

Thank you, Lord! You have given us these and so many other blessings! We are truly grateful!

I suffer from chemical sensativity & allergies and it is such a cross to carry at times . so many people still do not understand and are often very insensative . at church we had ladies very offended when Fr. asked if they could refain from wearing chemical perfumes .
I too am grateful for the medical field even with all our narural living and herbal medicines .Antibiotics saved our ds foot when he developed an infection in the bone . He could've lost his foot !

Kelly! Haven't "seen" you in a while!
Can't wait to catch up on your blog, too! Thank you for your very kind words...you are a godly woman! I am always inspired by your compassionate and humble heart...your love of God's people shines through your posts and you do something that is VERY difficult for most of us...you admit your shortcomings and express your need for forgiveness...I admire you for this very much:)

Colleen, yep, paprika! Ok...even mayonnaise, ICE CREAM (french vanilla), and EGG NOG have tomato products in them...that will give you an idea of what we went through this past year when the docs had said "No tomatoes for now"...it was VERY stressful...and that's why we are SO thankful today!

Rox...oh my! I'm so glad your son's foot was healed...and I will pray for your allergies to be, as well.

Claire and Munchesmom, thank you both, too! We really did enjoy the pizza! Everyone let Gracie take the first bite and then shouts and cheers of jubilation rang out through the whole house! xo

I am also thankful that your daughter is a.o.k. It is so hard to see our children suffer. I will keep praying for her and your family!
