MY QUICK TAKES:
1) I hope that everyone is having a HAPPY NEW YEAR!
2) I did not want to begin with a "negative", hence the reason for # 1....BUT...it is a bit MORE than frustrating to me that the medical state in this nation is such that a patient MUST double, triple, and quadruple CHECK every single word and thing that happens when under the care of a physician in order to protect their OWN well-being...are you finding this? If readers here today work in the profession...I mean no offense...but TRULY...I have found that a patient MUST be his/her own advocate or it can be DANGEROUS. Case in point....my son was diagnosed with a concussion tonight at the ER...upon returning home, I was reading the discharge papers they gave with patient instructions, perscriptions, warning signs, etc....I noticed that what I was reading did not jive with what I had heard the doctor saying to me at the hospital....and then...near the bottom of the page, I read "Diagnosis: CONTUSIONS"..."HMMMM", said I..."That's awfully strange...I always thought that the word contusion meant "BRUISE"...I could have SWORN that he was diagnosed with "CONCUSSION".....
To be certain, I called the hospital, asked them if I'd misunderstood something...and it turned out that I hadn't misunderstood, but was sent home with the WRONG papers and diagnosis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are mailing me the correct ones in the morning!!!! SERIOUSLY!

4)People have been writing to us and asking if we accept personal checks as payment for our e-book, "I Surrender". (button for it is at the top of this page) Yes...we do...you need only email us for our mailing address and we send the download as soon as the check clears. It actually says this on the website...but perhaps people are missing that part. Anyway, just wanted to clarify that in case someone visiting here is wondering the same.
5) MY SWEET BABY GRAND-DAUGHTER JOZY is WALKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Walking, walking, everywhere...with arms open wide and an ear-to-ear grin upon her chubby little face!!!!!!!!!! She must have made 50 laps back and forth between her mamma and me the other day!!!!! Aaaahhhhhh, SUCH a blessing!
6) My friend Nancy, from Be Not Afraid blog, recently wrote something wonderful to me that has served as such a wonderful reflection as we exit the Christmas Season and head toward the near coming of LENT...she said that clutter...physical clutter in our homes...can cause a spiritual clutter in our souls!!!!!! By being too focused on THINGS, we clutter up our ability to SEE, HEAR, and FEEL God!!!! I thank God for the beautiful insight and profound wisdom of friends like Nancy in my life...DEcluttering will take on a special meaning in this New Year for me!
7) I recently read some wonderful ponderings on Mary, the Mother of God, by Young Mom, a Protestant Minister's wife who has been sharing her journey of study on her blog.
